French Toast

Patrick Nolan → Betty Nolan →  Grandma Elizabeth Nolan

5  large eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Cut desired bread (stiffer bread works better like Italian) into halves and dip into mix until well coated.  Fry in pan with generous amounts of shortening or lard over a medium to medium high heat.  Cook until golden brown.
