Never Fail Chocolate Fudge

4 cups sugar
1 tall can evaporated milk
¼  lb. butter
1 - 12 oz.  pkg. of chocolate chips
1 pint jar marshmallow cream
1 tsp. vanilla
walnuts

Put sugar, milk and butter in large pan.  Cook on medium heat to soft ball stage stirring often.  It takes a long cooking period.   
Take from stove, add chips, cream,  and vanilla (and nuts if desired). Mix well and pour at once into  9"x13" pan.  Requires no heating.  Let stand overnight before cutting.
